Relive the Vast Galactic Adventures from the Series & Films in the Palm of Your Hand! Hasbro Star Wars The Black Series 6-Inch Figure Line Review

In 1977, George Walton Lucas Jr. combined his imagination with elements of sci-fi adventure, American Westerns, Japanese samurai dramas, and space opera to give birth to a legendary classic—"Star Wars." In the more than 40 years since, the various spin-offs of Star Wars have blossomed like a hundred flowers. In addition to the nine main saga films that form the canon, other forms of extended works such as comics, animations, novels, video games, and even television series have made this fictional universe even more complete. The vast and diverse worldview ensures that fans always have endless topics to discuss. In every sense, it is no exaggeration to say that it is the most far-reaching epic sci-fi masterpiece to have influenced the world.

For us toy collectors, if we want to hold our favorite Star Wars characters in the palm of our hands and let our imaginations run wild, building one amazing adventure after another, then I believe the "The Black Series" 6-inch figure line from the internationally renowned toy manufacturer "Hasbro" is definitely an excellent choice. The widely beloved Star Wars Black Series is a product line that Hasbro launched in 2013. Unlike the mainstream 3.75-inch action figures of the time, The Black Series adopted a larger 1:12 scale, recreating classic Star Wars characters at a 6-inch size. Not only do they feature meticulously researched and detailed costumes and accessories, but the figures themselves also possess highly articulated and flexible joints. Furthermore, with the introduction of "Photo Real Technology" in 2018, the likeness of live-action head sculpts from films and series has been significantly enhanced. Whether for simple display or for hands-on play, the comprehensive character selection and diverse playability are sure to satisfy different types of collectors, making it a Star Wars figure line with outstanding value for money.

This review will bring you, our fellow toy people, the latest wave of The Black Series 6-inch figures. Let's explore together what legendary stories unfolded "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."!

▼Here are the seven stars of this review. Different series use different representative colors, making it easier for collectors to identify them.

▼The character portrait mural on the side of the box is still here. Connecting the images is truly a great achievement for any collector!

▼"Darth Maul," the Sith Lord who first appeared in "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace." Cruel and ruthless, he was tasked by his master, Darth Sidious, to pursue the Queen of Naboo and obstruct the actions of Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. After killing Qui-Gon, he was cut in half by his apprentice, Obi-Wan, but survived sustained by his hatred. He remained active in "Clone Wars," and his unique personality and backstory are beloved by many fans.

▼The figure recreates Darth Maul's black combat attire from Episode I, along with his signature double-bladed lightsaber.

▼The intimidating head sculpt and tattoo patterns perfectly restore the special makeup worn by actor Ray Park.

▼The high articulation of the base body goes without saying. The long robes, made of soft plastic, barely interfere with the lower body's movement, making it an absolute joy to pose.

▼The lightsaber can also be split into two separate blades, just like in the movie, taking the freedom of play to the next level!

▼The shock that Maul brought to audiences in Episode I is surely still fresh in the minds of all Star Wars fans, right?

▼"Cassian Andor," based on his later appearance in the "Andor" series. He was an active member of the Rebel Alliance in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," fighting to overthrow the tyranny of the Empire. The release of his standalone series not only revealed a deeper side to Andor's inner self and personality but also meticulously documented his journey from a nobody to a key figure in the Rebellion, making it a truly memorable and realistic work.

▼Inheriting the excellent tradition of The Black Series, the details and texture of the clothing are handled exceptionally well.

▼The head sculpt uses photo-real printing, highly restoring the facial features and likeness of actor Diego Luna.

▼By making good use of the articulated joints, you can easily master any pose, whether dynamic or static. This is the captivating charm of The Black Series!

▼Two blaster pistols are included, which can be stored in the holsters or held in his right hand.

▼The gears of the galaxy's fate have begun to turn. Let's look forward to the arrival of "Andor" Season 2!

▼K-2SO (Kay-Tuesso), from the "Andor" series, who previously appeared in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Originally an Imperial security droid, his core programming was rewritten, turning him into a powerful droid companion for the Rebellion and Andor.

▼This figure is largely the same as previously released versions, retaining the flexible joints and some weathered paint application.

▼The head sculpt resembles a robotic skull.

▼The details all over are worth savoring slowly.

▼His tall, dark frame is quite intimidating, making him perfectly suited as a security droid.

▼The figure is equipped with multiple points of articulation, so a superhero landing is no problem at all!

▼I hope this duo can shine once again. Their heroic sacrifice in "Rogue One" makes me cry every time I watch it (tears).

▼"Dedra Meero," from the "Andor" series. A loyal and zealous lieutenant in the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), she oversees investigations into rebel activities. Ambitious, she seeks to use intelligence to propel herself to a higher position.

▼The figure recreates Dedra's appearance in her Imperial female officer's uniform from the show.

▼The head sculpt perfectly captures the likeness of actress Denise Gough, and the gradient effect on her hair is quite impressive.

▼The included datapad also features intricate sculpting and paintwork. This kind of detail is truly a strength of The Black Series!

▼You can effortlessly recreate various poses from the show, seemingly capturing her ambitious yet restrained demeanor.

▼She can hold the included blaster pistol.

▼Hurry up and get one to expand the forces of your Imperial figures!

▼"Imperial Armored Commando," from the series "The Mandalorian." These special forces soldiers, equipped with Beskar alloy armor and jetpacks, are an elite corps under the command of Moff Gideon, arguably the finest soldiers among the Imperial remnants.

▼A new type of trooper introduced in the third season of "The Mandalorian," their formidable Beskar armor in the show was truly impressive.

▼The "white soldiers" of Star Wars (Stormtroopers) have always been an iconic symbol of the series. And this super-strong Beskar armor version is, I must say, shockingly powerful. It really shows that high-level equipment is crucial.

▼A jetpack to send you soaring through the skies, and your choice of a blaster pistol or rifle.

▼The right arm is equipped with a Mandalorian Vambrace. Gideon really is thorough in his imitation.

▼With such a cool commando trooper, the only question is, how many are you going to get?

▼"Ahsoka Tano (Peridia)," based on her appearance in the standalone "Ahsoka" series. Through a twist of fate, Ahsoka entered the "World Between Worlds," an alternate dimension. There, with the help of her former master, Anakin Skywalker, she confronted and overcame the long-hidden trauma and pain in her heart. She returned to the world in a new white robe, joining her companions to try and stop the immense threat of Thrawn's return.

▼Unlike the several previously released versions in her blue outfit, this Ahsoka finally gets a new costume. The details of the fabric weave are impeccable, and of course, Ahsoka's signature dual lightsabers are not to be missed.

▼The head sculpt accurately captures the face of actress Rosario Dawson. That confident expression with a slight smile is just fantastic!

▼After removing the blade parts, the lightsaber hilts can be stored on the pegs at her waist.

▼Paired with highly flexible articulated joints, how you want her to wield the sabers is entirely up to you!

▼Whether it's a standard grip or a reverse grip, it's all possible!

▼For Star Wars fans who love Ahsoka and have watched her grow throughout "The Clone Wars," how can you miss out on such a great figure?!

▼"Grand Admiral Thrawn," based on his live-action appearance in the "Ahsoka" series. A cold, wise, and brilliant tactical genius, he is considered the most threatening Imperial Grand Admiral. He and Ezra Bridger both disappeared during the Liberation of Lothal at the end of the animated series "Star Wars: Rebels," only to reappear in "Ahsoka."

▼Different from past versions, this figure recreates his live-action look from the series, and it even captures the actor's slightly fuller waistline.

▼The head sculpt reproduces the blue-skinned, red-eyed appearance of Mads Mikkelsen's brother, Lars Mikkelsen. His leap from being the voice actor in the animated series to the live-action performer was a moment of great excitement for fans!

▼So, when are we getting a Galactic Te*la (just kidding)?

▼The blaster pistol in the holster can be held in his right hand.

▼I'm sure all fans who revere the Galactic Empire believe that this man will return, right?

▼And that's all for this review. Most of the characters in this wave of The Black Series 6-inch figures come from the Star Wars television series. I wonder if it has brought back all sorts of memories from when you watched them? Let's use these Black Series figures to relive these vast and boundless cosmic fantasies together!
