BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the latest product in their transforming alloy toy 'DX Chogokin' series, the "VF-25F Tornado Messiah Valkyrie (Alto Saotome's Unit) Revival Ver." from "Macross Frontier", slated for release in May 2025.
Appearing in the theatrical film, the VF-25F Tornado Messiah Valkyrie is equipped with the new "Tornado Pack" backpack, designed for both atmospheric and space use. This equipment was created as a testbed to verify the operational technology of the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie", focusing more on aerodynamics compared to previous reinforcement packs. It features large thrusters covering the main wings, rotating engines at the wingtips, limb-mounted armor with high-mobility thruster nozzles, rotating twin beam cannons, and other enhancements.
The "VF-25F Tornado Messiah Valkyrie (Alto Saotome's Unit) Revival Ver." is a revised version based on previous releases. The paint colors of both the Messiah Valkyrie main body and the Tornado Pack have been refreshed, now featuring a low-gloss finish to convey a heavy, substantial texture. Additionally, aircraft markings are printed on various parts of the unit and backpack, condensing its cool design and rich details into a model approximately 25 cm tall.
The product specifications are essentially the same as previous releases. The Messiah Valkyrie can achieve its three forms—FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID—through its robust alloy frame and precise complete transformation mechanism. The Tornado Pack can be freely attached and detached in each form to recreate its enhanced configuration. Accessories such as the GUNPOD, assault knife, and pilot minifigure are included to recreate battle scenes.
