The robot-themed articulated finished product series 『ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.』, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, officially announced today the latest product from《Mobile Suit Gundam SEED》, the 「Skygrasper & Effect Parts Set」, scheduled for release in April 2025.
The FX-550 Skygrasper is an atmospheric fighter developed by the Earth Alliance to support the tactical operations of the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. This machine features a highly automated system for easy pilot control and can be equipped with a variety of air-to-air and air-to-ground armaments. Furthermore, it can also equip "Striker Packs" such as the Aile, Sword, and Launcher types used by the 105 series mobile suits, either for its own armament or to transport them to the front lines for use by allied units.
The 「ROBOT SPIRITS Skygrasper & Effect Parts Set ver. A.N.I.M.E.」 faithfully recreates its cool machine silhouette, armaments, and the distinctive large missile pods on both sides of the wings, based on the anime settings. The "Turret-type Large Cannon" on top of the fuselage can rotate its turret and adjust the barrel's vertical angle, while the landing gear's deployed state can be reproduced using interchangeable parts on the underside of the machine.
The accessories include a clear display stand and a large number of effect parts, capable of recreating the firing of the Turret-type Large Cannon, the thrust from the rear thrusters, as well as large cross-shaped thruster effects and circular thruster effects that depict the "radiant glow" seen in the anime. The thruster effects do not need to be connected to the main unit itself; instead, they are fixed to the stand's support, allowing them to be used with any separately sold ROBOT SPIRITS, METAL ROBOT SPIRITS, or other similarly sized products.
The accessories also include an effect part resembling radial electric currents, designed to depict the scene in the series where the "Anti-Beam Shield" deflects beam saber attacks, showing the beam energy being nullified by the shield. This can be combined with separately sold SEED series mobile suits to recreate intense close-quarters combat scenes.
Furthermore, the Skygrasper features hardpoints on its rear fuselage and outer wings, allowing it to equip separately sold Aile, Sword, Launcher, or even the Noir Striker Packs, recreating various forms of equipment-swapping combat from the series.
