The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, which produces the most diverse range of 1/144 scale Gunpla, the "HG (High Grade)" series, today officially announced the latest product from the new 3D animation "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance", the "HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type Chabs's & Kale's Units + Unidentified Zaku II Solari's Unit Reproduction Parts Set", scheduled for release in February 2025. This product will be exclusively sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The 3D animation "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance", produced using the Unreal Engine 5, is a collaboration between Sunrise and SAFEHOUSE, showcasing powerful war scenes through realistic 3DCG animation. The story is set in the Universal Century of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam", depicting a new original story that takes place on the European front during the One Year War.
In this conflict, the Zeon forces initially gained an advantage with their new weapon, the "Mobile Suit", successfully breaking into Earth's battlefields. However, due to the Earth Federation Forces' abundant resources and the development of their counter-weapon, the "Gundam", the war gradually became a stalemate. Eleven months after the war began, one of the bases occupied by the Zeon forces on the Eastern European front was recaptured by the Federation Forces. To reclaim it, the Zeon side dispatched a mixed battalion, which included the "Red Wolves" mobile suit unit, led by protagonist Solari, who had just descended from space.
This product includes the Zaku II F-Type piloted by "Red Wolves" unit members Chabs and Kale Savareta. Utilizing multi-color molded parts, it meticulously reproduces intricate armor lines, mechanical structures, and other details in 1/144 scale. New parts are used to recreate the distinct spiked shoulder armor of Chabs's unit, faithfully reproducing the realistic, utility-focused style brought by mechanical designer Kunihiro Yamane. Additionally, a dedicated water decal sheet is included to reproduce markings such as the "Red Wolves unit emblem".
The articulation design of both units is fundamentally the same as the previously released "Zaku II F-Type Solari's Unit". In addition to the flexible articulation of each joint, the segmented skirt armor design balances aesthetic integrity with an expanded range of motion for the thighs. The head part features an internal mono-eye camera position adjustment mechanism, and the leg power pipes also incorporate a new movable shaft design, reducing interference and allowing联动 rotation when the knee joint bends. Weapon accessories include the Zaku Machine Gun, Heat Hawk, as well as newly sculpted Zaku Bazooka, Long Rifle, and leg missile pods that can be equipped.
Furthermore, the product also includes a set of unidentified Zaku II reproduction parts for use with the separately sold "Zaku II F-Type Solari's Unit". These include newly molded parts for the head's mono-eye camera cover, reinforced tracks on the outer upper body armor, a net decoration part for the left shoulder armor, missile pods for both legs and arms, a double-layered armor shield for the right shoulder, and more. However, these parts can only be used with an unassembled Solari's unit kit.
