Produced by Japan's PLEX company and released by X-PLUS company, the "Toho Large Monsters" series, which offers exquisite models of Toho's special effects monsters, recently unveiled a new product based on "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" — "King Caesar Fierce Battle Color Ver." It has a suggested retail price of 19,800 JPY, with pre-orders open on the Shonen Ric official website until November 25, 2024, and an estimated shipping date of February 2025!
King Caesar (キングシーサー) first appeared in the 1974 film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ). He is the guardian deity of the ancient Ryukyuan Azumi royal family, slumbering within Manzamo in Onna Village, Kunigami District, Okinawa. In the film, he teamed up with Godzilla to fight against Mechagodzilla, a heavy mechanical weapon built in Godzilla's image by the Third Planet Aliens, who were desperately trying to invade Earth!
This King Caesar Fierce Battle Color Ver. stands approximately 24 cm tall, utilizing the same mold as the version released in 2013. The coloring is inspired by the intense battle scenes where he fought alongside Godzilla against Mechagodzilla, faithfully reproducing the textured patterns on his hide and the earthy yellow color scheme details. The weathered texture of his claws and teeth is also exquisitely recreated. Overall, it is more vibrant than the light-up version released in 2019. The most significant difference lies in the spray-painted, dust-stained coloring effect on his legs. The eyes also feature an LED light-up function, which can be activated to display his powerful aura when his eyes glow red!
