PLEX, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its 'Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure SD' series, the 'RX-78-3 G3 Gundam' from 'Mobile Suit Gundam', scheduled for release in April 2025.
In the novel version of 'Mobile Suit Gundam', the RX-78-3 G-3 Gundam is the third unit in the RX-78 Gundam series. After a fierce battle with Elmeth, protagonist Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam Unit 2 was half-destroyed. He then transferred to the G-3 Gundam and participated in the Battle of A Baoa Qu until his death. This unit's appearance is fundamentally the same as Unit 2, but its body features a gray-white color scheme. Additionally, magnetic coating was applied to the frame's drive sections to reduce friction between parts and enhance mobility.
The 'Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure SD RX-78-3 G3 Gundam' is a modification based on previously released RX-78 series units, recreating the G3 color scheme with new colors such as gray-blue and light purple. This product is made using 3D digital modeling, standing approximately 23 cm tall with intricate detail. It features simple rotational articulation in the neck, shoulders, hands, and waist, allowing it to be posed with weapons such as the beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. The soft vinyl material is robust and durable, allowing collectors to fully enjoy an SD Gundam at a large scale, unlike previous products that were less than 10 cm tall.
