Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to imbue tokusatsu heroes with their original cool designs and natural articulation, officially announced today the latest product commemorating the 20th anniversary of the tokusatsu series "GARO": the "Golden Knight Garo (Kouga Saejima) GARO 20th Anniversary Ver.", scheduled for release in July 2025.
In the first work of the series, "GARO", the protagonist Kouga Saejima is a Makai Knight who inherited the Golden Armor, capable of transforming into the Golden Knight Garo, known as the strongest in the series. He resolves the "Inga" (shadows in human hearts) and the demon beasts "Horrors" through powerful martial arts and purification abilities.
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Golden Knight Garo (Kouga Saejima) GARO 20th Anniversary Ver." is a revamped re-release of the regular version launched in 2018, retaining its excellent body proportions, flexible articulation design, and the exquisitely detailed engravings on its full armor. It features a new paint application based on an illustration newly drawn for this product by Keita Amemiya, the original creator and general director of the "GARO" series. Green paint is applied to the edges and shaded areas of the beautiful golden armor, expressing the "Rekkaien-sou" (Blazing Flame Armor) form, where the entire body is enveloped in Makai Fire.
The armament accessories also include the "Garo Sword" that severs Inga, and a "fabric cape" with an embedded metal wire for shape-shifting, allowing for dynamic and cool battle poses reminiscent of the series. Furthermore, both the outer box and the display stand are printed with a special "Garo" illustration drawn by Keita Amemiya, making it highly commemorative.
