BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular confectionery toy series 『Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA』: the 「Psycho Gundam」 from "Mobile Suit Z Gundam", slated for release in April 2025.
The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam, boasting an astonishing height of approximately 40 meters, is a Newtype-exclusive mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces' Newtype Lab "Muramasa". It can transform from a mobile armor form with hovering capabilities into a mobile suit form optimized for close-quarters combat. Equipped with a large psycho-control system, its entire body is armed with numerous psycho-controlled Mega Particle Cannons and I-Field Generators, possessing the incredible destructive power to annihilate a city single-handedly. However, the young girl who piloted this machine, Four Murasame, was a "Cyber Newtype" created through inhumane methods such as drug modification and mind control, leading to her tragic and short life.
The 「G-FRAME FA Psycho Gundam」 is crafted using a newly developed giant MS articulated frame. Not only is the standard 10 cm mobile suit size scaled up to 22.5 cm, but areas that originally used ball joints have been entirely replaced with axial joints to enhance the durability of each part. Furthermore, the detailing is richer and more intricate than that of standard specifications.
Once the exterior armor is assembled, the "Psycho Gundam" stands approximately 24 cm tall. Its entire black armor continues the G-FRAME FA series' style, featuring high-density intricate detailing. The circular holes on the arms for shield attachment can also be covered with dedicated parts when not in use. Thanks to its flexible articulated joint design and multiple interchangeable hand parts, various scenes can be recreated, such as the Psycho Gundam engaging in melee attacks or firing its finger-mounted Mega Particle Cannons. Additionally, its substantial MA (Mobile Armor) form can be reproduced by swapping parts!
