Yesterday (26th), Danish toy company LEGO unveiled a unique and historically significant new product in its "LEGO Icons" series: "10363 Leonardo da Vinci's Flying Machine"! It is scheduled for release on January 1, 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$49.99.

One of the most renowned figures of the Renaissance in art history, Leonardo da Vinci, not only painted the timeless masterpiece Mona Lisa, deeply imprinting himself in history as a painter, but also held a prominent position in numerous other fields, even being described as an inventor and a genius. This flying machine represents a significant achievement in his studies of engineering and mechanics.

This set contains a total of 493 pieces. Once assembled, the flying machine boasts a wingspan of 35 cm and a height of 25 cm including the base. It utilizes dark brown, orange-red, and sand-colored bricks, along with soft wings and ropes, to faithfully recreate the appearance of da Vinci's designed flying machine. The color palette also imbues the entire model with a retro feel. The coolest feature, of course, is the interlocking mechanism that allows this model to simulate the flapping motion of a real ornithopter. We are incredibly curious about the structural composition of this set! Furthermore, in addition to the flying machine, this release also includes a Leonardo da Vinci minifigure, complete with two small accessories: a sketch and a quill pen. It is absolutely worth collecting!!
