Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has announced the latest event-exclusive product from the Gundam peripheral project "Gunpla-kun": "1/1 Gunpla-kun [Theatrical Poster Color]", scheduled to be sold in stores starting December 07, 2024.
The protagonists of "Gunpla-kun" are the Gunpla models produced at Bandai's Shizuoka factory. One early morning, a mysterious light suddenly emanated from the production line, and unknown Gunpla runner frames were born from it. These include the most famous RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06 Zaku II... and many other mobile suits that appeared in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series. Adopting a unique two-head-tall cartoon style, they convey the joy of building Gundam models through their cute designs and stories.
"1/1 Gunpla-kun [Theatrical Poster Color]" is a limited-edition product released to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" broadcast. The kit is a modification of the previously released standard version, changing Gunpla-kun's parts to molded colors such as dark blue, metallic blue, and pink, to recreate the image of Gundam intertwined with the cosmos, as depicted in the movie poster drawn by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko for the "Mobile Suit Gundam" theatrical version.
