In the "ZOIDS 40TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT," a 40th-anniversary commemorative project for the popular "ZOIDS" toy series from Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, the "ADVANCED Zi SERIES," which remakes classic Zoids using modern technology, has announced its latest product, the "AZ-09 Genosaurer," scheduled for release in late July 2025.
The "Genosaurer (Slaughter Demon Dragon)" released this time is a Zoid that was born alongside the Imperial Army's resurrection project for Death Saurer. In the anime, it is piloted by the protagonist's arch-rival, the Imperial Army's strongest pilot, "Raven." The Genosaurer possesses extremely high combat capabilities at both long and close ranges. The two pulse laser rifles mounted on its back are powerful enough to penetrate the energy shield of Shield Liger, and the destructive weapon "Charged Particle Cannon" hidden within its mouth can vaporize a medium-sized Zoid in a single shot.
The "AZ-09 Genosaurer" has been completely redesigned in terms of its overall form, individual part dimensions, and weight balance, based on data from the 2000 kit release and anime settings, while also being given richer mechanical detailing. The motor-driven walking action has also significantly evolved, not only making its movement more lifelike but also adding numerous manually transformable parts and hydraulic cylinder linkage mechanisms.
When the motor switch is activated for walking, the neck will swing up and down, the tail will sway left and right, and even the claws will open and close as it steps. Its eyes, the Charged Particle Cannon inside its mouth, and the core within its chest will all emit a red glow.
The accessories include a wealth of weapon parts to switch between two forms: mass-production type and dedicated type. Furthermore, many weapons and armor parts throughout the body can be manually adjusted in angle or opened/closed, such as the head and back cannons which can be adjusted in direction and angle, and the neck armor, tail heat sinks, leg thrusters, and anchor claws which can be deployed. It also includes 1/72 scale figures of Raven and a generic soldier pilot, allowing for the recreation of the powerful scene from the anime where Raven's Zoid fires its Charged Particle Cannon.
