BANDAI CANDY, the popular assembly model candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has officially announced the latest product from the "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" series, "Drill Boy," from "Brave Police J-Decker," scheduled for release in April 2025.
Football Detective "Drill Boy" is a Brave Robot equipped with a drill made of Brave Alloy γ, featuring multi-stage transformation mechanisms for Drill Tank and Drill Jet. It can use its drill to launch surprise attacks underground and can also retrieve its weapon, the "Football Bomb," from its chest to kick at enemies, striking them with spikes that deploy from the football. Furthermore, Drill Boy can combine with another Brave Robot, "Construction Tiger," to form Super Construction Tiger.
"SMP Drill Boy" is constructed using multi-color molded parts and stickers. Once assembled, it stands approximately 10 cm tall and can transform into three forms—Drill Tank, Drill Jet, and Drill Boy—without needing to swap parts. By removing Drill Boy's leg armor parts, its humanoid form can more closely resemble its appearance in the show. Accessories include its signature "football," which can be attached to the top of its foot to recreate dribbling and shooting poses.
Drill Boy also features the ability to combine with the separately sold "SMP Construction Tiger," allowing for a Super Construction Combination into the more powerful "Super Construction Tiger." It includes chest, backpack, and leg parts for Super Construction Tiger, prioritizing show-accurate sculpting. Furthermore, when each unit is in its vehicle form, all four units can be linked together to recreate the "Tiger Drill" combination attack.
