The classic alloy toy series "Chogokin", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has officially announced its latest product themed after the "Life-sized Gundam Statue" at the Japan World Expo, the "RX-78F00/E Gundam", scheduled for release in May 2025.
In the exhibition area of the 2025 Japan World Expo (Osaka/Kansai Expo), the 17-meter-tall "RX-78F00/E Life-sized Gundam Statue" standing next to the "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" exhibition hall was modified from the previous life-sized movable Gundam at "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA" in Yokohama. It was redesigned into a non-articulated statue in a high-kneeling pose looking up at the cosmos, and its left shoulder armor, skirt armor, and leg armor were replaced with new designs resembling solar panels. When night falls, a special performance with accompanying lighting and smoke effects will take place.
However,
the statue outside the pavilion is not the complete form of this "RX-78F00/E Gundam". A completely new video work played inside the pavilion will lead viewers into a "world where humans and mobile suits coexist", experiencing a journey to a space station via an orbital elevator. Along the way, a Gundam equipped with "GLASS FEATHER" on its back can be seen, featuring magnificent solar panel wing designs.
The "Chogokin RX-78F00/E Gundam" is based on the previously released Yokohama version RX-78F00, with modifications. It utilizes new parts to recreate the distinctive armor designs on the shoulder, skirt, and legs. The solar panels are rendered with clear parts, allowing a view of the internal detailed structure. Multiple areas of the entire model are finished with metallic paint to express a weighty texture, and some frame parts are also made of alloy material. The upper body also incorporates an internal LED light-up mechanism, allowing the head camera and chest vents to illuminate when powered on.
Accessories include multiple pairs of interchangeable hand parts, and weapons such as the beam rifle, shield, and hyper bazooka, identical to the Yokohama version. The dedicated display stand features a newly designed pattern for this Expo version, and can display the Gundam body and store various weapon accessories using its articulated support.
