Lionsgate has dropped the first behind-the-scenes featurette for "From the World of John Wick: Ballerina," the first feature film spinoff of the "John Wick" franchise, revealing several previously unseen action sequences. In the new footage, star Ana de Armas describes the filming experience as a major physical test and teases a massive scene where she uses a flamethrower to take down a staggering 106 people.
Ian McShane, reprising his role as the Continental Hotel manager Winston, praised de Armas's formidable performance in the featurette, declaring: "John Wick is Baba Yaga. Ana is Baby Yaga."

"Ballerina" is directed by Len Wiseman ("Live Free or Die Hard"). The screenplay was written by Shay Hatten, who worked on "John Wick: Chapter 3" and "Chapter 4," with "Promising Young Woman" director Emerald Fennell also contributing to the script.
The cast includes returning franchise veterans Keanu Reeves, Anjelica Huston, and the late Lance Reddick as Charon. They are joined by newcomers Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, and Catalina Sandino Moreno, an Oscar nominee for "Maria Full of Grace."
The film's story is set between the events of "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" and "John Wick: Chapter 4," and will detail Wick's recovery process after his serious injuries. The plot also follows the titular ballerina assassin, a fellow student from John's academy, on her own journey of training and revenge. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 6, 2025.
