Danish toy company LEGO recently unveiled a new Gift with Purchase (GWP) item. This set's exclusive GWP promotion at LEGO Certified Stores in Taiwan also recently commenced. It is the numbered set 40701, "Ballerina & Nutcracker Scene"! From December 6th to 31st, 2024, customers who purchase LEGO sets totaling NT$5,200 or more at LEGO Certified Stores will receive it. Quantities are limited, available while supplies last.
This set is designed based on the ballet "The Nutcracker" by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It uses 244 pieces to create a 14 cm tall scene. The scene features an open interior decorated with a Christmas tree, where one can admire the starry night sky through a window. Extending forward is a ballet stage adorned with golden railings and candles. A mechanism located at the back can be used to move a blue element, allowing the ballerina minifigure attached to it to spin. In her hand, she holds a dark reddish-brown mini-figure, which is the Nutcracker. Coupled with the charmingly colored Christmas tree and gifts piled beside it, the entire set exudes a warm and cozy atmosphere.
