While the live-action "Spider-Man" films are famous for their on-screen couples sparking real-life romances, the animated franchise has seen the opposite. The voice actor for the main character has seemingly made uncomfortable advances toward his female co-stars, which have ultimately backfired.
While this may not be widely known in all circles, Shameik Moore (pictured below, left), the actor who voices Miles Morales in the "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" series, has become increasingly unpopular with Western fans and a target of ridicule. This stems from his frequent social media posts expressing what many perceive as an obsession with Hailee Steinfeld (pictured below, right), the voice of Gwen Stacy. Some of his comments and photos have been criticized as bordering on uncomfortable objectification and romantic pursuit, drawing the ire of fans.

Steinfeld, who is in a long-term relationship and recently announced her engagement, has never publicly responded to Moore's behavior. However, another actress from the "Spider-Man" universe could no longer tolerate it and decided to publicly put a stop to his actions, particularly after Moore seemingly shifted his romantic pursuits toward her following Steinfeld's engagement news.
Laura Harrier, who played Peter Parker's love interest Liz in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," posted a TikTok video yesterday demanding that Moore delete a video he shared that implied they were in a relationship.
In her video, Harrier made it clear she was not happy with Moore's post.
Before posting the clip with Harrier, Moore had shared a tweet that many fans interpreted as a reaction to Steinfeld's engagement news. Moore later clarified that he was unaware of Steinfeld's engagement at the time and was simply reflecting on his New Year's goals.
However, he soon posted the video that angered Harrier, captioning it "coming soon." This was no longer a matter of fan misunderstanding; the actress herself was now upset. After Harrier's response video went viral, Moore finally deleted his post with her and recorded a short video to address the situation, calling it all a misunderstanding.
Moore explained that he had no ill intent and apologized for the confusion. He briefly deactivated his X account before reactivating it a short time later.
