Iron Patriot
In the original comic, the "Dark Avengers" is a superhero team led by Spider-Man's nemesis, Norman Osborn. After Tony Stark became a fugitive, he was appointed by the government to reorganize S.H.I.E.L.D. into "H.A.M.M.E.R.". He also teamed up with several second-generation heroes and villains to form a registered hero team. Members included the Greek god of war Ares, the new Captain Marvel Noh-Varr, Wolverine's son Daken, Venom's nemesis Scorpion, and others. Each member's image was designed to mirror a character from the Avengers to gain public trust. For example, Norman Osborn himself was the Iron Patriot, modeled after Iron Man and Captain America.
After succeeding "Iron Man" Tony Stark as the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Norman repainted a set of Iron Man power armor from the confiscated Stark Tower in the colors of the American flag and named it "Iron Patriot" for his own use.
Aside from being unable to use the original arc reactor, which made its power inferior to Tony's Iron Man suit, other features such as the super strength, defensive capabilities, flight ability, energy repulsor blasts, and small missiles provided by the suit were in no way inferior to the Iron Man armor invented by Tony.
This Iron Patriot 1:6 scale diecast collectible figure is based on its original comic book appearance, limited to 600 sets in Hong Kong. The armor is adorned with metallic royal blue and bright red, accented with silver-gray. It comes with interchangeable chest armor featuring a star pattern and an inverted triangle, incorporating design elements from Captain America and Iron Man. The newly developed helmet and body feature up to 25 LED light-up functions. The diecast body stands approximately 32.5 cm tall, and boasts 30 points of articulation. The streamlined design of the shoulder pads, waist and abdomen, leg armor, missile equipment, and the deployable air flaps on the back all precisely blend mechanical technology with military aesthetics. It also includes an LED light-up display base, multiple interchangeable hand parts, and a Captain America shield with magnetic attachment!
The appearance of this Iron Patriot is excellent, and its articulation is decent. The QC on my unit was average, with small scratches in some areas. Also, because it's essentially a recolored MK-46, it loses some points in QC and gimmicks! What needs improvement is the painful way to insert batteries and change parts; screws should be avoided in favor of magnets. Beyond that, the biggest complaint is the price... the cost-effectiveness is really low! No head sculpt, no accessories, no effects, yet it costs HK$2,780. Anyway, as the craziest Iron Man fanatic, I still had to pay for it...
