BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai, has announced that the latest product from the popular assembly model confectionery toy series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT ALTERNATIVE DESTINY", designed by mechanical designer Toshihisa Miyauchi, will be "Dancouga" from the anime "Super Beast Machine God", scheduled for release in May 2025.
In the story, Dr. Hazuki secretly developed four super weapons called "Beast Machines" to counter the invasion of an alien empire from another dimension, and recruited four young men, including Shinobu Fujiwara, from the officer academy to serve as pilots. The four Beast Machines are powerful weapons capable of three-stage transformation: normal mode, beast mode, and robot mode. They can further combine into the giant robot "Dancouga" to unleash maximum combat power. By sensing the pilots' mental energy, Dancouga gains immeasurable power, but this also places a great burden on their minds and bodies.
"SMP ALTERNATIVE DESTINY Dancouga" is composed of multiple molded color parts and various pre-painted parts with metallic finishes. Color separation, including the eyes and chin of the face parts, is thoroughly reproduced, achieving a high level of completion even with a straight build. The completed Dancouga boasts an extremely powerful physique and size. By eliminating the transformation and combination mechanism, it achieves a tall, muscular human-like physique, intricate mechanical detailing, and an articulated design that allows for various dynamic poses, all while metallic parts contribute to a strong sense of heft.
Furthermore, accessories include X-shaped reinforced wings and interchangeable jet booster parts that reveal nozzles, which can be equipped on the back and rear skirt armor to make the machine's silhouette and details even cooler. The flexible and sturdy articulated joint design allows for cool combat poses such as punching and kicking, and the various cannons mounted on the back can also be turned forward to recreate the "Dancouga Cannon" pose. The signature weapon, the "Dancouga Sword," is also included, and with the pull-out shoulder joints, it can be wielded with both hands to recreate the "Dancouga Koga Ken" special move!
