Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy brand, in collaboration with the classic video game Taiko no Tatsujin and based on Eiichiro Oda's immensely popular work One Piece, is launching its latest product: the "One Piece x Taiko no Tatsujin Swing Figures" (ワンピース×太鼓の達人 スイングフィギュア) Gashapon! Scheduled for release in the fourth week of January 2025, each capsule will be priced at 400 Japanese Yen, with a total of four designs to collect.
The lineup of One Piece characters joining this collaboration is truly impressive! It includes "Shanks" of the Red-Haired Pirates, "Marshall D. Teach" of the Blackbeard Pirates, "Monkey D. Luffy (Gear 5)" of the Straw Hat Pirates, and the puppet leader of Cross Guild (クロス・ギルド), "Buggy."
In addition to reinterpreting the characters in a chibi, low-head-to-body ratio style within a mini 3.5 cm size, fully reproducing their distinctive features, they are also depicted holding drumsticks and wearing festival masks. Furthermore, Taiko no Tatsujin's red taiko drum "Wada-Don" and blue taiko drum "Wada-Katsu" make adorable appearances, infused with elements of their respective paired characters, transforming into pirate-style taiko drums – absolutely fantastic!
