PlayStation Unveils "Ghost of Tsushima," "Helldivers" Adaptations; "Horizon Zero Dawn" Also Heading to Screens

At this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), an annual event showcasing various electronic products, PlayStation announced during its opening presentation that three of its video game titles would be adapted into film and television projects. These three titles are "Ghost of Tsushima," "Helldivers," and "Horizon Zero Dawn."

The "Ghost of Tsushima" adaptation will be based on the multiplayer mode "Ghost of Tsushima: Legends," rather than the main story campaign. It will be developed as a Japanese animated series in collaboration with Crunchyroll and Aniplex, with Takahiro Mizuno set to direct, Gen Urobuchi handling story composition, and Kamikaze Douga responsible for animation production.

Meanwhile, the popular multiplayer game "Helldivers" will be adapted into a live-action film by Sony Pictures. While the film's development has been announced, further details regarding the director, screenwriter, and cast are yet to be revealed.

As for "Horizon Zero Dawn," it was also announced today that Columbia Pictures will collaborate on developing a film adaptation. No further details were disclosed.

In fact, a live-action adaptation of "Horizon Zero Dawn" had previously been announced in collaboration with streaming giant Netflix. However, the project was reportedly put on hold after Steve Blackman, who was set to direct and is also the showrunner for "The Umbrella Academy," became embroiled in a "workplace bullying" controversy.
