TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" for its 6-inch action figure series "GUNDAM UNIVERSE," designed for Mobile Suit Gundam fans worldwide. The "Unicorn Gundam (Renewal Version)" is scheduled for release in June 2025.
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is a Newtype-exclusive experimental mobile suit cooperatively developed by Anaheim Electronics during the final phase of the Earth Federation Forces' "UC Project." To verify the ultimate capabilities of the "Psycho-Frame" that caused miracles during the Second Neo Zeon War, it was the first time a movable frame was entirely constructed using Psycho-Frame. Normally appearing in its pure white Unicorn Mode, when a Newtype pilot activates the "NT-D System," the mobile suit's limitations are released, and it begins to transform, revealing its internal Psycho-Frame which emits light. By directly controlling the mobile suit with brainwaves, it achieves reaction speeds and mobility beyond human comprehension.
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Unicorn Gundam (Renewal Version)" differs from previous products in the same series by adopting the newly developed movable frame "UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME." This frame maintains joint strength while significantly expanding the range of articulation, which was previously a common complaint. Designs such as pull-out shoulder joints and front skirt armor that can rotate 90 degrees upwards to allow for high kneeling poses enable the mobile suit to be posed in various dynamic battle stances.
The overall design has also been thoroughly revamped compared to previous versions of the Unicorn Gundam, significantly enhancing the layering between the external white armor and the internal Psycho-Frame. The proportions and details of each armor part have been redesigned, and the sharpness of the part edges has been enhanced, giving it a more refined and formidable appearance. Accessories include three pairs of interchangeable hands, a Beam Magnum, a Hyper Bazooka, and a Shield, along with beam saber effects that attach to the hilts on the backpack. These can be combined with the more flexible new frame to recreate dynamic battle poses!
