Tokyo Disney Guests Risk Forced Ejection for Running? "Forced Eviction" Trends on X, Park Clarifies: "It's Always Been the Rule"

Nestled in Chiba, Tokyo Disneyland has been a beloved destination for over 40 years, drawing in countless visitors from Japan and around the globe. It’s a magical spot for all ages, constantly rolling out new events that often lead to massive queues just to get in – a familiar sight for anyone who’s been there.

But today (January 14), a surprising trend popped up on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan: "Forced Eviction." What’s more, it was directly linked to Tokyo Disney, leaving many netizens scratching their heads about what could possibly get you booted from the park.

Turns out, the buzz started when an X user, who was at the park today (January 14), tweeted that staff had repeatedly announced over the loudspeaker: "Anyone running today will be subject to forced eviction." The message was broadcast three times, making it sound like a brand-new, super strict policy. Was running into the park suddenly a no-go?

In reality, it's pretty common to see guests making a mad dash into Tokyo Disney when the gates open, especially during special events. Take this video from the final day of the 2023 Halloween event, for example – you can spot a crowd sprinting in, though it seems to calm down pretty quickly after that.

Japanese netizens, for their part, were overwhelmingly supportive of the "forced eviction" policy against running. Comments poured in like: "Finally, stricter measures!" and "This is excellent!" Some even declared, "It's about time!" Many felt that the constant rush of people sprinting at opening was not only dangerous but also a nuisance for park staff. They believe this move will make the park safer and more enjoyable for everyone, preventing the chaotic stampedes that often occur right after opening.

However, when Japan's Mainichi Shimbun reached out to Tokyo Disney's operations team, they clarified that this isn't a new policy that just started on January 14.

Park management stated: "To ensure the safety of our guests and those around them, we ask everyone to refrain from running. If malicious running behavior is observed, guests may indeed be asked to leave the park." They emphasized that this rule has always been in effect and isn't a recent addition.

The official statement explained that today (January 14) featured a parade rehearsal themed around Vanellope from the movie "Wreck-It Ralph," which drew a large crowd of enthusiastic fans. Guests waiting for the park to open might have been more excited than usual, prompting staff to issue stronger broadcast reminders. A Disney Resort public relations representative urged: "We hope all guests can enjoy the park safely and happily. Please be mindful of etiquette and safety, and avoid dangerous running behavior."

Whether you've been to Tokyo Disney or Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, you've probably witnessed the opening-gate sprint. Just a friendly reminder to always follow park rules and avoid running to prevent chaos and ensure your fun outing doesn't turn into a dangerous situation!
