The highly anticipated 2025 Gundam anime, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," a groundbreaking collaboration between animation titans Khara (known for the Evangelion series) and Sunrise (the studio behind Mobile Suit Gundam), has been a hot topic among fans since its reveal.
The theatrical compilation, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-," which re-edits early episodes of the series, launched in Japanese theaters on January 17th to strong box office success. Today (January 24th), distributor Medialink Taiwan confirmed on their official fan page that the film is officially set to premiere in Taiwan on February 27, 2025.
Talk about fast! Just one day after its Japanese debut, Medialink announced it would distribute the film in Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong. With the US premiere set for February 28th, this means Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau will be among the very first regions outside of Japan to screen "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-."
Sure, this film is essentially a re-edited preview of the TV anime's initial episodes, and the full series' premiere date is still under wraps. But that hasn't stopped legions of fans from flocking to theaters! The dream team-up of Khara and Sunrise, in particular, has everyone buzzing about the fresh new worldview they're set to unleash upon the Gundam universe.
