While everyone's hyped for 'Green Uncle' Char Aznable, a major highlight is the iconic Haro being voiced by none other than Rie Kugimiya! Today (Feb 4), mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a playful proposal: he wants to change the title on Rie Kugimiya's profile page from "GQuuuuuuX" to "QGuuuuuuX," sparking a massive online discussion.
Why the sudden urge for a title swap? It all stems from Rie Kugimiya's legendary career voicing a plethora of iconic tsundere characters. We're talking Louise from "The Familiar of Zero," Shana from "Shakugan no Shana," Aria H. Kanzaki from "Aria the Scarlet Ammo," Nagi Sanzenin from "Hayate the Combat Butler!," and Taiga Aisaka from "Toradora!" – just to name a few.
Kugimiya's affectionate nickname among fans is "Kugyu." This led to the coining of "Kugimiya-byo" (Kugimiya Syndrome), a "special condition" where extreme obsession with her characters causes fans to uncontrollably shout "Kugyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" Now, if you swap the 'G' in "GQuuuuuuX" for a 'Q,' you get "QGuuuuuuX" – which, uncannily, sounds just like "Kugyuuuuuu!" The resemblance is uncanny.
Turns out, Yamashita isn't the only one who's had this thought!
