Prolific Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, who last year released “Kinds of Kindness” and recently wrapped production on “Bugonia”—the English-language remake of the South Korean sci-fi comedy “Save the Green Planet!”—is once again collaborating with his frequent muse, Emma Stone, on both projects. Now, according to reports from The Film Stage, Lanthimos is already developing another film he will write and direct, titled “Fatale.”

“Fatale” is an adaptation of French novelist Jean-Patrick Manchette’s 1977 book of the same name. The novel centers on Aimée, a top-tier female assassin who infiltrates a small, corrupt town. Using her beauty and cunning, she manipulates the local residents, pitting them against each other to profit from the chaos. However, even her most meticulously planned schemes face unforeseen complications, leading her into a predicament she never anticipated.

Given the high frequency of their recent collaborations, The Film Stage speculates that Emma Stone is a strong contender to portray Aimée. Additionally, James Schamus, known for his frequent screenwriting work with Ang Lee, is confirmed to join the project as a producer.
