The second trailer for the live-action "Until Dawn" movie, helmed by "Lights Out" and "Shazam!" director David F. Sandberg, dropped tonight. The film is not a remake but a spin-off set within the original video game's universe, taking a similar approach to the "Fallout" television series.

The film stars a new generation of actors, including Ella Rubin, Maia Mitchell, Odessa A'zion, Willem van der Vegt, Belmont Cameli, and Michael Cimino. Swedish actor Peter Stormare (pictured below), who portrayed Dr. Hill in the game, will reprise his role for the movie.

The official synopsis reads: One year after her sister Melanie’s mysterious disappearance, Clover and her friends head to the remote mountain valley where she vanished, searching for answers. While exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and are picked off one by one—only to wake up and find themselves back at the start of the same night. Trapped in the valley, they are forced to relive the nightmare again and again, with the killer’s methods growing different and more terrifying each time. As hope dwindles, the group quickly realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and their only way to survive is to make it until dawn.

The screenplay was co-written by Gary Dauberman (the "Annabelle" trilogy) and Blair Butler ("The Invitation"). The film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 25.
