The hilarious time-travel comedy manga, Ya Boy Kongming!, has been a massive hit since its anime adaptation dropped in 2022. It's since spawned a live-action TV drama and stage play, both earning rave reviews. Now, the party's heading to the big screen with an official movie announcement!
Today (February 19), the official trailer finally landed, along with more cast reveals for the film, which is set to hit theaters on April 25, 2025.
For the live-action movie, Osamu Mukai and Moka Kamishiraishi are reprising their roles as Zhuge Kongming and Eiko Tsukimi, respectively. Mirai Moriyama and Dean Fujioka are also back as Kobayashi and Liu Bei. New additions to the cast include Fuju Kamio as Sima Jun and Utaha (lead vocalist of Wednesday Campanella) as Shin.
This movie boasts an all-new original story, centered around the "Music Battle Awards 2025," a dream stage created by three major music companies. Top artists from all corners will gather to battle for supremacy in the music world. But wait, there's a new challenger from the Three Kingdoms era: Sima Jun, a descendant of Sima Yi, ready to engage Kongming in a battle of wits!

What's more, Soshi Sakiyama, the rising singer-songwriter behind "Akari," the ED for the "Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" anime, has penned a brand new track, "again and again," specifically for Utaha's character, Shin.
And that's not all! Lilas Ikuta, who crafted "DREAMER" for the live-action "Ya Boy Kongming!" drama, is back with "Sing along!!!" for the movie. Kenmochi Hidefumi of Wednesday Campanella is handling the arrangement, bringing together three generational talents—Eiko Tsukimi, Shin, and Lilas Ikuta—to create the film's epic ending theme!
