A jaw-dropping LEGO build of a coconut crab has been tearing up X (formerly Twitter) recently, leaving netizens absolutely stunned. Its intricate design has many exclaiming, "It looks like it's going to scuttle away any second!" The photo has already racked up over 230,000 views and nearly 7,000 likes.
This viral masterpiece comes from LEGO model builder "Nikaido (@uran120)," a pro modeler at LEGOLAND Japan. His previous works have been showcased at the LEGO House in Denmark and other LEGOLAND parks. He previously garnered significant attention for his LEGO rendition of a box crab (calappa).
This time, Nikaido tackled the coconut crab, sharing some fascinating facts about the creature: "Despite having 'crab' in its name, it's actually a relative of the hermit crab and the largest terrestrial invertebrate on Earth, capable of reaching nearly a meter in leg span when fully extended."

He added, "Coconut crabs possess incredible claw strength, with a bite force comparable to a lion's, easily capable of severing various objects." These formidable traits are perfectly captured in his LEGO creation – from the powerful claws to the thick carapace, the overall design is both mechanically intricate and astonishingly lifelike.
The "LEGO Coconut Crab" has been showered with praise, with netizens commenting, "It looks like it's about to move at any moment, those claws are seriously powerful!" "So cool! The way it meticulously recreates the coconut crab's features is incredible!" and "This is insane... they should totally sell this!"
Beyond marveling at the intricate detail, some users drew parallels to other iconic mechanical creatures: "This is basically a 'Crustacean Mobile Suit Squad'!" and "It looks just like a Zoids model, absolutely awesome!"
