A hilariously clever cup has gone absolutely viral on X (formerly Twitter), racking up over 8.8 million views and 180,000 likes! Netizens are hailing its design concept as a "victory of ideation," with many exclaiming, "I seriously need one!"
The buzzworthy cup was shared by X user かんちゅ (@tainakanchu), who simply captioned it, "This cup is amazing." At first glance, it looks like any ordinary glass. But take a closer look, and you'll find it's emblazoned with a chart of various traffic violations and their corresponding penalty points, including explicit warnings for "drunk driving" and "driving under the influence." Suddenly, that alcoholic beverage becomes a lot harder to swallow.

The design has sparked heated discussions online, with many users admitting the cup might induce a strange sense of guilt, making them question if they should really be drinking that much. "If this cup had beer in it, I'd probably just put it down..." one user joked. "This design is so brutal, it makes the alcohol taste bad!"
Beyond the humor, some netizens believe the cup's unique design serves as a crucial reminder about the importance of "don't drink and drive." "It's not just funny; it's a warning – drinking is fine, but drunk driving is absolutely not!" commented one user. Another added, "Who would dare drink too much after seeing that chart?"
Interestingly, this viral sensation isn't just a random product. It hails from "Drive-in Denden" (ドライブイン電電), a retro Showa-era style cafe and standing bar set to open in the Asakusa underground shopping street in January 2025.

While it's currently unclear if the cups will be sold individually, many users are already clamoring, "If they sell these, they'll be a massive hit!"
