This Pokémon has long been hailed as one of the ultimate "waifus," and when unboxing videos hit X, fans couldn't wait to show off their new "wives," proving Gardevoir's undeniable charm.
We've previously featured clay artist Korokke Saikai, known for their incredible work like the gender-bent Tomura Shigaraki from My Hero Academia and the pure love Peach & Bowser Super Mario clay figures. Now, they're back with a stunning new creation! Tapping into the buzz around the life-sized Gardevoir plush, Korokke Saikai has crafted a Pokémon Gardevoir figure in a seductive "black stockings" pose. The intricate craftsmanship and stunning result have left netizens absolutely floored.
The whole "Black Stockings Gardevoir" phenomenon kicked off after the "Life-Sized Gardevoir Plush Cushion" shipped. VTuber Johann from overseas posted a photo on X of Gardevoir sporting black stockings, and fans were instantly captivated. It turns out the two are a perfect match – proving that Pokémon truly inspires some unique tastes.
Inspired, Korokke Saikai got to work, shaping the figure with clay and wire, starting with the head. Korokke Saikai mentioned that they really wanted to snag the "Life-Sized Gardevoir Plush Cushion" when it first dropped, but by the time they got around to it, it was impossible to find at retail price. Unwilling to pay inflated reseller prices, they decided to try making their own. And when they saw the black stockings Gardevoir trend online, it was game on!
Of course, a life-sized version wasn't feasible, but having made Gardevoir figures before, Korokke Saikai decided to tackle past imperfections and see how much their skills had improved over time.
Gardevoir's body was built on a wire armature, with clay sculpting and carving tools used to bring out her alluring pose.
And of course, a bed was essential for the scene!
Once the clay parts were dry, they were assembled to complete the prototype.
For the painting, the crucial black stockings were given a special design with horizontal stripes on the thighs, making Gardevoir's long legs even more eye-catching.
The face also highlights Gardevoir's slightly bashful demeanor, with blushing cheeks and captivating eyes being key elements of the paint job.
