Fans have been clamoring for more, and now the wait is almost over! The popular manga "One-Punch Man," originally created by ONE and later adapted into an ongoing manga by Yusuke Murata, is finally getting its highly anticipated third anime season. After teasing its production, officials announced late last year that the series would celebrate its 10th anniversary with Season 3 airing sometime in 2025.
Today (3/7), the official word dropped: Season 3 is set to premiere in October 2025! This new installment arrives a whopping six years after Season 2, which aired back in 2019, making the wait feel even longer for dedicated fans. Alongside the premiere date, the team also unleashed a brand-new key visual and the very first promotional video, packed with character reveals!
It's been a journey, to say the least. Season 1 hit screens in 2015, followed by Season 2 in 2019. The official announcement for Season 3's production didn't even come until 2022, leaving fans in suspense for quite some time. For such a massively popular series, a six-year gap between seasons is certainly a test of patience!
This time around, J.C.STAFF, the studio behind Season 2, is returning to handle animation production. The series composition will be helmed by Tomohiro Suzuki, known for his work on the critically acclaimed "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End." While Season 2's reception was a bit mixed, J.C.STAFF's adaptation of "2.5 Dimensional Seduction" last year earned plenty of praise. Here's hoping the team can truly turn things around and deliver an unforgettable third season!
In the upcoming third season, Saitama and Genos continue their everyday heroics at the Hero Association. However, their routine is shattered when the Monster Association suddenly emerges, taking the children of association executives hostage and plunging the Hero Association into a full-blown crisis. In response, the S-Class heroes assemble, preparing to launch a daring raid on the Monster Association's headquarters to rescue the captives. Meanwhile, Garou, the "human monster" previously abducted by the Monster Association, slowly begins to awaken within the enemy base... Get ready for an intense and thrilling showdown!
