We previously reported on Japanese automaker Honda's ambitious electric vehicle project: bringing the legendary Pokémon Koraidon, featured on the cover of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, to life. This incredible endeavor is officially dubbed the "Honda Koraidon Project" (ホンダコライドンプロジェクト).
Today (March 7), the "Koraidon Project" unveiling event took place in Tokyo, where Honda officially showcased the "Honda Koraidon" – a futuristic mobility vehicle developed in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. It's set for a limited-time exhibition at Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama until March 9.

The showcased model is Koraidon in its rideable Sprint Mode. Approximately 40 passionate volunteers from Honda's Motorcycle Business, Power Products Business, and Advanced Technology Research Institute joined forces for this project.
Operating under the slogan "Honda's Dedication Makes Children's Dreams Come True," the team combined Honda's motorcycle design and simulation technologies with the Advanced Technology Research Institute's balance control tech. Their goal? To transform the in-game Koraidon into a fully functional, real-world future mobility vehicle.
The newly unveiled "Honda Koraidon" has been meticulously brought to life through Honda's cutting-edge technology and The Pokémon Company's supervision. It boasts a near 1:1 scale and weight, aiming for the most authentic recreation of the legendary Pokémon's form.
But wait, there's more! Honda plans to take things even further, leveraging its proprietary balance control technology to enable the "Honda Koraidon" to achieve four-legged walking. They're even aiming for a never-before-seen feat from the game: two-wheeled self-balancing locomotion! This groundbreaking tech is rooted in "Honda Riding Assist," first showcased at CES 2017, which itself evolved from ASIMO robot research. It automatically adjusts balance, and will soon be integrated into the "Honda Koraidon" in Sprint Mode, promising a ride experience even closer to the game.

Following in the footsteps of Toyota's "Toyota Miraidon Project," Honda has now launched its "Honda Koraidon Project." It's wild to see Japan's two automotive giants both trying to turn these legendary Pokémon into real-life vehicles! Honda also hinted that the Koraidon's limbs, head, and facial expressions will dynamically adjust based on speed, creating an even more vibrant and game-accurate appearance once it hits the road.
Will it truly move like a motorcycle in the future? We're all on the edge of our seats to see if this dream becomes a reality!
