Tsukasa Hojo's manga "Cat's Eye" (キャッツ・アイ) is undeniably an 80s classic, even spawning a TV anime adaptation back in 1983. Last November, fans rejoiced at the news of a brand-new anime project, hailing it as a true renaissance!
Today (March 18), the official team dropped a fresh teaser visual, a preview video, and the full voice cast lineup. Mark your calendars: the series is set to premiere in September 2025, exclusively on Disney+'s Star channel.
"Cat's Eye" (キャッツ・アイ) was serialized by Tsukasa Hojo in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1981 to 1985, predating his iconic "City Hunter." The story follows the "Cat's Eye Sisters"—Hitomi, Rui, and Ai Kisugi—a notorious trio of art thieves who always leave behind a calling card emblazoned with the "Cat's Eye" logo. Their blend of sex appeal and combat prowess captivated a massive fanbase, making it one of the few 80s works to center on such charismatic female leads.
Fans were also thrilled to see the Cat's Eye sisters make a surprise appearance in the "City Hunter" movie, "City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust."

The new visual brilliantly contrasts Hitomi, Rui, and Ai in action during their heists with their everyday charm working at the café, showcasing the "Cat's Eye Sisters'" multifaceted appeal.
As for the voice cast, Maki Zenin's voice actress from "Jujutsu Kaisen," Mikako Komatsu, will play Hitomi Kisugi. Holo's voice actress from "Spice and Wolf," Ami Koshimizu, takes on Rui Kisugi. And Ai Hayasaka's voice actress from "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War," Yumiri Hanamori, will voice Ai Kisugi. Toshio Utsumi will be voiced by Takuya Sato.
LIDENFILMS, known for recent works like "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" and "Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout," is handling the animation production. Yoshifumi Sueda is directing, Jinshi Mori is writing the script, Yosuke Yabumoto is serving as character designer and chief animation director, and Yuki Hayashi is composing the music.
The theme song features popular artist Ado's fresh cover of Anri's classic "CAT'S EYE," which was previously revealed in a special teaser video.
