Netflix is heavily promoting "Happy Gilmore 2," starring comedy icon Adam Sandler, as a major summer blockbuster, even dropping a second trailer before April, months ahead of its late July debut. This highlights the streamer's confidence in the long-awaited sequel.
"Happy Gilmore 2" is directed by Kyle Newacheck, known for helming episodes of the "What We Do in the Shadows" series and previously collaborating with Sandler on "Murder Mystery." Sandler co-wrote the script with his longtime collaborator Tim Herlihy. The film is set to premiere globally on Netflix on July 25.
