Last month, Eon Productions, co-owners of the James Bond film series rights, sold creative control of the franchise to Amazon for $1 billion. This move was followed by the official announcement that longtime Eon producers, the step-sibling duo Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, would be stepping down from their roles in the series' production.

This significant personnel change and transfer of control presented Amazon with an additional crucial task before selecting the seventh James Bond actor: finding new producers for the iconic film series.

Renowned entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider previously revealed in his blog "The InSneider" last month that the most likely candidates to take over as Bond producers included David Heyman, producer of the "Harry Potter" film series, and Amy Pascal, producer of the "Spider-Man" film series. Industry insiders widely believed Heyman possessed the capability to manage the Bond franchise effectively. Pascal, during her tenure as Chairman of Sony Pictures, had also previously collaborated with Broccoli on the distribution of the first four Daniel Craig-era Bond films.

Recently, multiple foreign media outlets simultaneously confirmed that Heyman and Pascal were indeed in talks to take over the Bond franchise. At the time, it remained unclear whether Amazon would select one of them or intended for both to co-produce the upcoming films.

UPDATE: Official sources today formally announced that Pascal and Heyman are confirmed to join as co-producers. This new partnership mirrors the previous generation of Bond film producers, the male-female duo of Barbara Broccoli and her step-brother Michael G. Wilson.
