A-1 Pictures' original anime, Lycoris Recoil, which aired in 2022, quickly became a massive hit that season, even earning praise from legendary game creator Hideo Kojima. While a new anime project was announced later, details have been scarce, leaving fans eagerly awaiting a proper sequel.
But hold up! Before we get that highly anticipated second season, an all-new six-episode original short anime, Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time., was announced in January this year. And now, at AnimeJapan 2025 today (March 22), it's been confirmed to premiere on April 16! The official channels also dropped individual episode visuals and a brand-new promotional video.
"Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time." will feature six episodes, all set at the beloved LycoReco cafe, diving into fresh daily stories starring Chisato, Takina, and the rest of the crew.
