Get ready, Gundam fans! The latest entry in the iconic franchise, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," is set to hit screens in April 2025. This highly anticipated anime is a powerhouse collaboration between Studio Khara, known for the "Evangelion" series, and Sunrise, the legendary studio behind "Mobile Suit Gundam." The theatrical prequel, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX-Beginning-," has already made waves, raking in over 3 billion JPY at the Japanese box office and performing well in Taiwan.
Today (3/23), during the Anime Japan 2025 event, the official team dropped the main visual and a brand-new promotional video for the TV anime. But here's the kicker: "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" will run for a total of 12 episodes, making it the shortest series in Gundam history!

▼ The "12 episodes total" announcement quickly became a trending topic on X in Japan.

The newly unveiled main visual centers on the protagonist, Tenju Yoha (Machu), with the mysterious new Mobile Suit, the "GQuuuuuuX," lurking in the background.

The latest promotional video also gives us a peek at plenty of fresh scenes, showcasing both new characters and Mobile Suits.

In other news, "Mō Dō Natte mo Ii ya," the insert song from the theatrical version performed by Hololive VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei, is now confirmed as the ending theme for the TV series. The opening theme will be "Plazma," the theatrical version's main theme song by Kenshi Yonezu.

With "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" launching in April, and the theatrical "Beginning" already covering some ground, the mere 12-episode run has fans wondering just how much story they can pack into it.
Still, everyone's buzzing about this dream collaboration between Khara and Sunrise. We can't wait to see what kind of epic content they'll deliver!
