Even the King of Monsters Has a Sweet Tooth! Monteur x Godzilla Unleash Black Puff Pastries

Meet Monteur, the dessert brand with a sweet 70-year legacy in Japan. What started as a humble shop called "Suzuki Seika" has now grown into a major confectionery powerhouse across the nation.

Now, the dessert giant is teaming up with the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, to celebrate their shared 70th anniversaries! They're dropping the second wave of their epic collaboration, featuring two original Godzilla-inspired cream puffs. Mark your calendars: these must-have treats for dessert lovers and kaiju fans alike hit shelves in Japan on April 1, 2025!

This isn't their first rodeo! Back in November 2024, the first "Monteur vs. Godzilla" collab saw classic desserts decked out in special packaging featuring Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, and other iconic monsters, sparking a massive buzz among fans.

But for this second round, they're taking things up a notch! Inspired by Godzilla's menacing dark form in "Godzilla Minus One," Monteur is transforming the kaiju into "black-themed desserts." Get ready for two dark chocolate cream puffs that truly embody the King's signature shadowy style.

▼ Godzilla Cream Puff – Dark Chocolate (Price: 237 JPY / Okinawa: 291 JPY)

This puff boasts a larger, crispier black choux pastry shell, generously filled with a rich dark cocoa custard and decadent chocolate cream. It's a bittersweet symphony! Heads up: this one's a regional exclusive, available only in Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku-Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa.

▼ Godzilla Eclair – Dark Chocolate (Price: 237 JPY / Okinawa: 291 JPY)

Inspired by Godzilla's tough hide, this eclair is topped with crunchy chocolate flakes and packed with a dense, rich dark chocolate cream for a truly satisfying bite. Good news: this treat will be available nationwide across Japan, no regional restrictions!

To mark this epic crossover, they've also dropped a special limited-time short film titled "70 Years of Happiness Operation" (70年のしあわせ大作戦). The film cleverly blends the "Godzilla attack" worldview with Monteur's artisan dessert spirit to create a unique story, even featuring veteran announcer Ichiro Furutachi as the narrator!

These black-themed Godzilla cream puffs perfectly capture the King of the Monsters' intimidating presence. If you find yourself in Japan, make sure to grab one (or both!) and taste the kaiju power for yourself!
