If you're into Gunpla, you've probably dabbled in all sorts of customization – painting, cutting, weathering, you name it. These are all awesome ways to make your models stand out and even fuse them with other themes for fresh, new creations.
Today, we're shining a spotlight on Japanese Gunpla builder Old Ape G (@jUj5eBsVJztn6dT). He's taken the "GBN-Base Gundam" Gunpla from "Gundam Build Divers" and given it a fantastical "isekai reincarnation" twist, transforming it into something completely different. Netizens are absolutely blown away, especially when they see the before-and-after. Seriously, how did he even do it?!

This jaw-dropping creation is just one example of Old Ape G's dedication to reimagining "SD Gundam" series characters in a more realistic, scaled-up style, consistently churning out incredible works.
His latest concept, "Reincarnated as a Knight Gundam in Another World," uses the "HGBD 1/144 GBN-Base Gundam" from "Gundam Build Divers" as its base, drawing inspiration from the "Knight Gundam" found in the SD Gundam universe. By skillfully employing putty, plastic sheets, and other materials, he completely overhauled the original model into a fully armored knight. Comparing it to the prototype, it's practically two different kits!

He crafted the massive sword, shield, shoulder-mounted gun, and cape using putty and plastic, giving the entire piece a dramatically different and imposing vibe.

And where there are knights, there are often samurai! Old Ape G also tackles Japanese-style warrior builds, inspired by the "Musha Gundam" character from the "Plamo-Kyoshiro" manga in the SD Gundam series. These builds bring a more realistic and intimidating scale to Gundams based on Japanese Sengoku-era warriors.

Old Ape G's custom series has garnered widespread acclaim, and we highly recommend checking out his X account. You might just find the perfect spark for your next Gunpla mod!
