Actress Kirari, known for her role as Nanako Mizuki in the iconic 1998 Japanese drama "GTO" (Great Teacher Onizuka), is currently battling stage three cancer and has been openly sharing her treatment journey on social media. 
In a recent Instagram update, Kirari revealed she shaved her head for the first time, declaring, "Honestly, it feels amazing!" Her post, showcasing her incredibly positive outlook, immediately garnered an outpouring of support from fans.
Kirari explained that the decision to go bald was a proactive step to manage the physical changes brought on by chemotherapy. She visited a hair salon in Tokyo's Nakameguro for the transformation, stating, "This is exactly the kind of place I need right now." She also shared her evolving perspective: "As the weather gets warmer, and until I find my favorite wig, I'm going to embrace this time in the most comfortable way possible. As a woman, what's wrong with walking around bald?" Her words exude unwavering confidence and a fearless attitude.
Furthermore, Kirari mentioned she's learned how to shave her head herself from a professional and plans to try it at home in the future. "This will be a new experience, and I'm ready to embrace it," she added. Her optimism and resilience have not only inspired countless fans but also sparked widespread discussion across social media.
Kirari previously put her acting career on hold after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, announcing her condition in 2015 and taking an extended break for recovery. In September 2024, she publicly revealed the cancer had recurred and underwent surgery that same month. However, post-surgery, it was discovered the cancer had spread more extensively than anticipated, leading to a second operation in December. In January of this year, she further disclosed that the cancer had metastasized, confirming a stage three diagnosis, and is currently undergoing intensive treatment.
