ANIMA, the sub-brand of Hi-Fi earphone maker Acoustune, has previously delighted fans with collaborations for hit anime like "Bocchi the Rock!", "BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!! / Ave Mujica", and the anime film "Expelled from Paradise".
Now, they're teaming up with Yuki Midorikawa's beloved manga, "Natsume's Book of Friends," to release a special edition wireless Bluetooth earphone set. Priced at 20,000 JPY, these are currently available for order on the ONKYO official website.
"Natsume's Book of Friends" began its serialization in Hakusensha's "LaLa" and "LaLa DX" magazines back in 2003. The story follows protagonist Natsume Takashi, who possesses a supernatural ability to see spirits. After inheriting his grandmother Reiko's mysterious "Book of Friends," he finds himself constantly hounded by yokai.
He soon discovers that the "Book of Friends" contains the names of countless yokai, taken by his grandmother when she defeated them, which explains why so many now seek him out. Takashi resolves to return each name to the yokai Reiko vanquished. Meanwhile, the powerful yokai Nyanko-sensei, who desires the Book of Friends for himself, volunteers to be Takashi's bodyguard, protecting both him and the book as they embark on their supernatural journey!
▼ Last October also saw the broadcast of the seventh anime season, "Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7."
This collaboration centers around protagonists Natsume Takashi and Nyanko-sensei. The design features character-inspired color schemes and themes for both the charging case and the earbuds themselves. The charging case sports the series' English logo, while the earbuds showcase Nyanko-sensei's iconic face logo, presented in a sleek black and white duo.
Utilizing the ANIMA AOW01 model, these Bluetooth earphones were originally designed with anime music in mind. They offer up to 6 hours of continuous playback and are one of the brand's most popular models.
But the real showstopper? The custom voice prompts recorded by the characters' voice actors! Hiroshi Kamiya (Natsume Takashi) and Kazuhiko Inoue (Nyanko-sensei) are incredibly popular seiyuu, and the black version even includes lines from Kazuma Horie (Tanuma Kaname). Imagine hearing your favorite characters greet you and accompany you through your music sessions!
