"Nothing Beats This": Gacha Designer Overhears Fans Thanking Creator of Their Favorite Capsule Toy

From the wonderfully weird to the downright wild, today's gacha machines offer an endless parade of treasures. We've all been there, staring down a wall of capsule toys, paralyzed by choice. But have you ever stopped to wonder about the masterminds behind these tiny plastic wonders?

Recently, Japanese gacha designer Ushihito (@ushihito) shared a "miracle moment" on X (formerly Twitter) that's tugged at the heartstrings of many. For anyone in a creative field, it's hard to imagine a more heartwarming experience.

Ushihito recounted how he stumbled upon two women buying gacha toys he had designed. They were excitedly chatting about their pulls, clearly thrilled to have gotten the ones they wanted. Then, he heard it: "I really want to thank the person who made this!"

Unbeknownst to them, the designer himself was standing right there! While he couldn't bring himself to reveal his identity on the spot, Ushihito later shared on X that his heart was overflowing with gratitude and emotion. He wanted to tell them, "Your 'thank you' miraculously reached me! And I want to thank you too!"

The gacha in question is the "Hiyokoninaru B-jou" (literally "Chick-turning-into-medicine B-tablet") charm series, released by Japanese toy company HMA (H.M.A. Co., Ltd.) and available nationwide since March. Designed entirely by Ushihito, this adorable collection transforms chicks and other characters into playful pill-shaped charms, and it's been quite the buzz on X.

The series features five distinct designs: "Hiyokoninaru B-jou," "Chokora PP-jou," "Gorillan," "Pandamin," and "Toranaru TG-jou." Each capsule toy retails for 400 yen (tax included).

What started as a casual post-work detour to a gacha store turned into this incredible chance encounter. After seeing the women's joy, Ushihito even decided to spin a few more capsules himself. He quietly watched, feeling a profound sense of satisfaction that he could create something so beloved.

The post quickly went viral, racking up tons of likes and retweets. It's safe to say Ushihito's "thank you" has now successfully reached those enthusiastic fans – and countless others!
