Director Ari Aster, known for "Hereditary" and "Midsommar," has unveiled the first teaser trailer for his fourth feature film, "Eddington." Set in 2020, the film reportedly centers on the COVID-19 pandemic and takes place in a small New Mexico town called Eddington, where a sheriff and the mayor are locked in a fierce conflict.
Previous rumors suggested the plot follows a couple, Lindsay and Marc, driving through New Mexico on their way to Los Angeles. After running out of gas outside Eddington, they decide to seek help in the small town. Initially, they receive a warm welcome from the residents, but as night falls, the picturesque setting quickly transforms into a nightmare. Clues from the new teaser indicate that these previously rumored plot points are indeed part of the narrative, suggesting the film might feature multiple interwoven storylines.
