BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular Shokugan series 'Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA': the 'RX-78F00/E Gundam,' based on the 'RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-Sized Statue' at the Japan World Expo, is scheduled for release in September 2025.
At the 2025 Japan World Expo (Osaka-Kansai Expo) exhibition area, the 17-meter-tall 'RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-Sized Statue' standing next to the "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" exhibition hall is a modification of the previous life-sized movable Gundam from 'GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA.' It has been redesigned as a non-articulated, high-kneeling statue gazing up at the cosmos, with its left shoulder armor, skirt armor, and leg armor replaced with new solar panel-like designs. At night, special performances featuring lighting and smoke effects will accompany it.
However, the outdoor statue is not the complete form of this "RX-78F00/E Gundam." A completely new video work screened inside the pavilion will transport viewers into a "world where humans and Mobile Suits coexist," experiencing a journey via orbital elevator to a space workstation. Along the way, they will witness the Gundam piloted with the magnificent solar panel wings "GLASS FEATHER" equipment on its back, possessing the ability to separate individual solar panels and remotely control them like funnels, battling against the suddenly appearing "Zeong MA Type."
The "G-FRAME FA RX-78F00/E Gundam" product includes the "RX-78F00/E Gundam" main unit and the enhanced equipment "EX-001 GLASS FEATHER" that appeared in the pavilion's video. All parts, except for the Gundam's movable frame, are newly sculpted, faithfully reproducing extremely high-density detailed designs. The solar panel components on both the Gundam body and the GLASS FEATHER also utilize clear blue parts.
The Gundam main unit achieves flexible articulation thanks to its complete movable frame. The GLASS FEATHER equipment also features movable mechanisms for its wing bases, thrusters, and a pair of auxiliary mechanical arms at the top. It can be posed with the included "Beam Welding Gun" in both its deployed and stored states. Furthermore, the accessories include a set of replacement parts for the Gundam, allowing for the armor to be swapped to recreate the appearance of the 'RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-Sized Statue' from the venue.
