A recent post on X (formerly Twitter) by Japanese user Yuuto Tobino (@yuutobino) about her second son's eye-opening experience at an agricultural high school has gone viral, resonating with countless users for its hilarious and relatable take on farm life.
Tobino shared that her son, fresh into ag high school, initially aced subjects like English in the placement tests, landing him in a higher-level class. But things took a turn once practical lessons kicked off.

She wrote, "Once practicals started, he realized a bunch of his classmates come from farming families. He came home looking absolutely floored, saying, 'Those guys are ridiculously smart! They know EVERYTHING!'" Faced with her son's stunned reaction, Tobino couldn't help but think, "Isn't this exactly like 'Silver Spoon'?"
"Silver Spoon" (銀の匙Silver Spoon) is a popular manga by Hiromu Arakawa, set in an agricultural high school. The protagonist, Hachiken, moves from the city to the countryside and is utterly overwhelmed by the vast experience and knowledge of his classmates, who "grew up on the farm." This scenario, as described by Yuuto Tobino, struck a chord with many fans, who immediately dubbed it a "real-life Silver Spoon."

One user even chimed in with a recommendation: "If you add 'Hyakusho Kizoku' (百姓貴族) to your reading list, I think it'll be even more fun! (Highly recommended!) And if you've read 'Hyakusho Kizoku,' you'll realize 'Silver Spoon' is actually quite gentle by comparison (lol)."
