News has been circulating since last year that Jason Momoa's "Fast X" villain, Dante, might not return for "Fast & Furious 11." Universal Pictures reportedly considers the character's actions too violent for the main series' family audience. His storyline is now expected to conclude in a "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" sequel starring Dwayne Johnson, with the studio actively seeking a new antagonist to fill the void in "Fast & Furious 11." It now appears Universal has begun an active search for a replacement.

According to a recent exclusive report by prominent film journalist Daniel Richtman on his Patreon page, Universal is currently scouting talent for a new "leader-type character" set to debut in the next installment. The studio is reportedly keen on securing a veteran actor of Anthony Hopkins' caliber but is also open to casting relatively younger stars like Keanu Reeves or Hugh Jackman.

While Richtman did not explicitly confirm if this leader role is indeed the new antagonist, the focus on high-profile stars suggests it will be a significant opposing leader, not merely a supporting character akin to Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody. This isn't the first time Universal has approached Reeves for a villainous role; the studio previously sought him for the part of undercover agent Aimes, played by Alan Ritchson in "Fast X," and also for the unseen leader of the Eteon organization in "Hobbs & Shaw." Reeves declined both prior offers, making this latest development spark curiosity about whether he might finally join "The Fast Saga."
