Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's prize figure brand BANPRESTO announced the new product "Akatsuki Gundam Head-Type Speaker" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", scheduled for official release on May 13, 2025.
ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam is the flagship MS of the Orb military, built by the Orb state-owned enterprise "Morgenroete, Inc.". This unit was designed based on data from the "GAT-X105 Strike Gundam", sharing a very similar silhouette. It also adopts a backpack exchange system similar to the "Striker Pack", allowing it to swap between the "Oowashi Equipment" for atmospheric use and the "Shiranui Equipment" for space. The Akatsuki places significant emphasis on its defense system; its dazzling golden paintwork across the entire body is not merely decorative, but rather the beam-reflecting mirror armor "Yata no Kagami", which allows it to remain virtually unscathed even when hit by a battleship-mounted "Positron Cannon".
This product transforms the "Akatsuki Gundam Head-Type Speaker" into a head-shaped speaker with a total height of approximately 14 cm. The overall design utilizes sharp plastic parts to recreate the intricate head details and cool silhouette, and is finished with a luxurious golden paint application to express the texture of the "Yata no Kagami" mirror armor. When the armor on both sides of the head is deployed, the internal speakers are revealed. After inserting two AAA batteries, music can be played via the USB TYPE-C (male) to 3.5mm (male) connection device on the base.
