Is This a Sniper's Hideout? Netizens Are Cracking Up Over This Barebones Room

Anyone who's moved knows that feeling: stepping into a new place, and if it's unfurnished, your room feels incredibly spacious and empty. Of course, live there long enough, and it inevitably turns into a mountain of stuff, LOL.

Recently on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan, user Okaden (@D17421958) shared a photo of their room, prompting a flood of comments like, "Is a professional hitman living here?!" The bizarre room setup instantly became a viral sensation.

Looking at the photo, the entire space is practically devoid of furniture, featuring only the bare essentials: a camping chair, a sleeping bag, a laptop, a mess of charging cables... and, most strikingly, a sniper rifle mounted on a bipod. The room's stark emptiness truly gives off "secret agent hideout" vibes.

What's more, Okaden frequently posts photos of firearms in their daily life, suggesting they might not be your average Joe (?).

Many netizens jokingly commented that the room looks exactly like something a retired hitman would live in, drawing comparisons to characters like Akira Sato (aka Fable) from the manga "The Fable."

However, Okaden isn't some battle-hardened assassin; they're just a regular person who enjoys airsoft. The "sniper rifle" in the photo is, in fact, just a toy gun. So why the cold, minimalist, and somewhat menacing room? Okaden explained, "I just moved in, haven't even put up curtains yet, and haven't bought any furniture, which is why it looks so minimalist."

They also admitted that their daily life is pretty simple – after work, it's straight to bed. They're actually quite content with this minimalist lifestyle. In fact, they find it super easy to clean and generally refreshing to live in, so keeping it this way isn't a bad idea, LOL.

While the post unexpectedly went viral and earned the room the nickname "sniper's operational base," Okaden mentioned receiving some "professional" feedback, like comments about the "setup not being complete enough." This left them a bit surprised, wondering if those messages were from actual snipers, haha!
