Recently, Japanese X (formerly Twitter) user EUFORIA ( @EUFORIA07 ) dropped a custom Gunpla that's got everyone talking. Their concept? "What if Amuro stole a Zaku?" The result: an "Amuro's Custom Zaku" that's equal parts hilarious and brilliant, earning massive praise online.
EUFORIA's wild idea sprang from the latest anime, "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX." This new series shakes up the classic Universal Century timeline, presenting a "Zeon victory" narrative where Char famously snags the Gundam. This got EUFORIA thinking: in a world where Char pilots the Gundam, what would Amuro, the legendary Gundam pilot, be up to?
Their answer? "If Char's taking the Gundam, then Amuro's obviously going to swipe Char's iconic red Zaku!" And just like that, the Zaku model was transformed into "Amuro's Custom Machine."
Visually, this Zaku rocks the classic RX-78-2 Gundam color scheme. EUFORIA even 3D printed a new head and shoulder armor, swapping in a Gundam-esque head and slapping a Federation emblem on the shoulder. And because a Zaku can't exactly wield beam weapons, they ingeniously crafted a "hot, extendable rod, like a police baton" as a stand-in for a beam saber. It's a clever touch that perfectly blends form with the lore-friendly limitations of a Zaku.
The finished mobile suit, decked out in Gundam's signature red, blue, and white, with its slightly rounded silhouette, is an instant smile-generator. Netizens went wild, commenting: "So cute, I love it!" "Honestly, this design could totally be canon!" and "Oh no, energy efficiency feels like only one-fifth of a Gundam's!"
