Japanese high-quality statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio unveiled its upcoming "Godzilla (2023)" collectible bust, based on "Godzilla Minus One," during its online showcase "NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XIV" uploaded to its official YouTube channel. Both a regular and a special edition will be released!
Released in 2023, "Godzilla Minus One" is a Godzilla film commemorating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla. The story returns to a post-World War II Japan setting, recreating the destruction wrought by this nuclear behemoth on the human world and depicting how people in the aftermath of war confront another massive catastrophe. The stunning visual effects, created by a special effects team of only 35 people, also led "Godzilla Minus One" to win the Best Visual Effects award at the 96th Academy Awards, triumphing over Hollywood blockbusters like Marvel and Mission: Impossible!
Following last year's reveal of the "Godzilla (2023) Non-Scale Diorama Statue," Prime 1 Studio now focuses on presenting the upper body of "Minus One Godzilla." This piece captures the scene from the film where Shikishima and his crew use naval mines to deter Godzilla approaching Japan in the waters near the Ogasawara Islands. From the currently released product images, it's clear that this bust, with its astonishing dimensions of 88 cm in height and 91 cm in depth, meticulously captures his appearance as he rises from the sea. The rough skin texture is sculpted with precision, and the flesh-toned cheeks, rapidly healed after being injured by the naval mines, are faithfully painted. Both the eyes and the gaping maw are finished with a glossy coat, realistically portraying his ferocious expression!
The base is crafted from translucent colored material, depicting the layers of splashing waves as the water is displaced by Godzilla, indirectly showcasing an undeniable sense of mass! This bust also features an LED light-up function, allowing it to be displayed as if preparing to unleash its atomic breath, elevating the sense of intimidation to another level! Furthermore, the special edition will include a bonus miniature version of the previously released Godzilla (2023) Non-Scale Diorama Statue, which, despite its condensed size, still meticulously recreates the destructive aura of "Minus One Godzilla"!
